Rabat is home to hundreds of restaurants offering a diverse selection of cuisines. The city undoubtedly boasts the largest selection in the world of Moroccan and Arabian dishes, and countless upscale, mid-range, and popular establishments serve Arabic food in all its varieties If you wish to cook at home, Rabat has a variety of options for grocery shopping.  There are large international supermarkets, such as Carrefoure and Marjan, throughout the city and only a short taxi ride away. Smaller, local grocery stores are also easy to find throughout neighborhoods, as well as local fruit and vegetable markets. You can buy organic fruits and vegetables freshly sourced from the picturesque Rabat countryside at weekly farmer’s market. The market takes place a few minutes away from SOHARA House every Friday. In general, local restaurants and food are safe and clean to eat, and students rarely have food-related illnesses. Throughout the country, tap water is relatively safe for brushing teeth, washing produce, etc., but filtered or bottled water for drinking is recommend and widely available in most places, including apartments, restaurants, and at SOHARA.
